4_CP_1RidingLessons.jpg Patriot Farms lesson program is dedicated to teaching children and adults to ride in the Hunter/Jumper discipline, essential horsemanship skills and safety. With a strong emphasis placed on educating students how to understand and communicate effectively with their horse, Patriot Farms lesson program builds self-esteem and confidence and encourages the development of independent thinking and problem solving skills.

Students learn basic riding form and techniques as well as how to groom, tack up and care for a horse. Proper position on the saddle, canter and lead changes are also taught as the student advances. Riding students are provided the opportunity to compete in schooling shows held locally to experience the Hunter/Jumper scene.

Patriot Farms boasts some of Northern California's best lesson horses suitable for all levels of riding. Beginner lessons are taught by Emily Warren and Haley Winger, both experienced, knowledgeable instructors. Emily has been riding for more than 10 years and has taught at Patriot Farms since 2005. She enjoys riding in jumper classes and competing in the Mini Prixs.

Haley is our assistant trainer but enjoys working with new riders. Her love of horses and skill in colt starting give the beginning rider a unique opportunity to work with a true "horse whisperer." She loves teaching the kids and it really shows!

Lessons are offered year-round, seven days a week. We have horses available for half and full leases.

Lesson Policy
All students are required to wear jeans or riding breeches and boots with a heel. Helmets are provided by Patriot Farms. Please have your hair neatly in a pony tail and fitted attire.

Private lessons are $50.00 and Semi-Private (2-3 people) are $40.00 per lesson. At the first lesson of each month payment is due for 4 or 5 lessons, depending on how many lesson days are in that month. If you are sick or unable to attend the lesson you have until the end of the month to make it up. If you can't make it up by the end of the month it is not carried into the next month. If we are unable to give you a lesson at your scheduled time, due to a horse show or rain, we will re-schedule it before the end of the month or credit it toward next month.
